Irish Crafts; Handmade in the Mourne Mountains

At Turnip House we design and make clothing, furnishings and accessories. We use pure new wool and Irish Linen. We also make our own unique knitted felt.
All products are hand-loomed and hand finished in our workshop

Celtic and Pre-Celtic Inspiration

Our designs are based on the ornament of the Celts and their forebears. Curvilinear, geometric and repeating motifs are translated onto modern textiles to produce striking garments and furnishings.
These images, once worked into stone, metal and manuscript, now gain new life in our textiles.

Turnip House was founded in 1987 by Elaine and John McCombe. Our workshop is part of a listed 18th Century farmhouse at the foot of the Mourne Mountains in County Down, Ireland.
